Mr Baggins I Presume?

 Martin Freeman appears in a TV Series set in Liverpool about a Cop with Mental Problems dealing with the Day to Day Reality of the Lowlife who are involved with Drugs in My City. 

The 'Jury is Out'[ so as to speak ]in regards to His Accent [unlike the phoney 'Harrington's feeble attempt] but much has been said amongst 'the Natives' with regards to His efforts. 

Actor Steven Graham OBE in 'Boiling Point' is a better 'Accent Coach' as He used to live not very far away from My Abode..

From what I've seen so far 'Never Trust a Smackhead or Police on the 'Take' seems to be the Theme-something anyone with more than one Brain Cell knows already.. I liked the little 'last word' in the series.. 'reports of a Burglar' on the Radio in a little nod to Producer Mr Freeman's previous Roles in Tolkien's Tales...the True Reality of course is very much a World away from Cinematic Interpretations in Liverpool or any other Place for that matter..

 Local Knowledge can mean the difference between Life and Death 

the Series is called 'The Responder' and is available on BBC 'I-Player' Online.

Mr Freeman is an accomplished Actor and is best known in the Part of 'Bilbo Baggins' 

[in the Tolkien Tales] which has been nominated for many Awards in the Entertainment Industry.

 I was always intrigued by Tolkien and His Ale-House University friend C.S Lewis

 [who wrote the 'Narnia' Tales with similar Archetypal 'Forms' as Characters- including Mr Beaver] 

-these Guys were Major Players in

Fantasy Literature development and both belonged to a Group who called Themselves 'The Inklings'

 They would meet in a Pub called 'The Eagle and Child' in Oxford. 

Much speculation about what exactly 'PipeWeed' was ? has been put forward-

 most Americans think it is Cannabis- but I think the significance of the Pub has been overlooked for in Their Epoch 'Pipes' were indeed smoked in Bars all over England Tobacco was  expensive and heavily Taxed- Beer was the 'Workers' Drink Wines and SPIRITS an expensive luxury...These Guys were all Boozers and Alcohol and Tobacco is hidden in Their Characters. It's exactly the same with 'Lebowski'...Dude

Tolkien deliberately locates  many of His Characters Dwarves Hobbits etc in 'Out of Place' settings

 'The Prancing Pony' [Pub]in Bree for example is populated by many shady Characters who seemingly are unconcerned about these strange beings entering Their Domain? something echoed perhaps in the famous 'Star Wars' [Movie]Bar/Cantina Scene by  Lucas[ Chewbacca?]

Tolkien includes the Dwarves escaping in Beer Barrels after being incarcerated by the Elves who patently drank large quantities on a regular basis.

The WOODLAND ELVES Themselves are an interesting Species sporting Pointy Ears and are linked to THE STARS and ARCHERY.[BOWS Etc]

somewhat like Mr Spock in 'Star Trek?' .......'Zesty' Romulan Ale?

but how did Tolkien use Philology to create ? The Answer could be something to do with an old Catholic Opium Addicted Poet called Francis Thompson

Thompson studied medicine for nearly eight years at Owens College, now the University of Manchester. While excelling in essay writing, he took no interest in his medical studies; he had a passion for poetry and for watching cricket matches.He never practised as a doctor, and to escape the reproaches of his father he tried to enlist as a soldier but was rejected for his slightness of stature. Then in 1885 he fled, penniless, to London, where he tried to make a living as a writer, in the meantime taking odd jobs – working for a bootmaker (John McMaster of Panton Street) and booksellers, selling matches.During this time, he became addicted to opium, which he had first taken as medicine for ill health, having experienced a nervous breakdown while still in Manchester. He lived on the streets of Charing Cross and slept by the River Thames, with the homeless and other addicts. He was turned down by Oxford University, not because he was unqualified, but because of his addiction.^[2] Thompson contemplated suicide in his nadir of despair, but was saved from completing the action through a vision which he believed to be that of a youthful poet Thomas Chatterton, who had committed suicide over a century earlier.^[3] A prostitute, whose identity Thompson never revealed, befriended him and gave him lodgings. Thompson later described her in his poetry as his saviour
